La boîte du mercier

We sourced a small number of these haberdasher's boxes, recovered from a "grenier" (attic) in the north of France by a wonderful collector we know well. 

These boxes, in flawless condition having only been gently used, sung out to us as beautiful storage boxes.

Chez Les Six, we're using them to store children's artwork, treasured baby clothes, and old printed photos. 

Not so high, they can sit neatly underneath beds or atop wardrobes, a perfect, age old storage solution that brings history and beauty too.
