Le pyrogène

We love these ironstone match strikers at Les Six which date back to the 19th and early 20th centuries, and scoop them up whenever we find them. 

We have a small collection on the site, with this one being our narrowest shape. 

The ribbed side surface is used to strike and ignite matches, while the top cylindrical part of the striker is used to store them.

The perfect piece for your coffee table or mantlepiece.
